Geomembrane Liner Systems for Environmental Containment

Geosynthetic liners create a low-permeability barrier between stored materials and the surrounding environment. In containment applications, the liner material, seam quality, subgrade preparation, and installation method all affect long-term performance.

Mustang Containment Solutions installs geomembrane liner systems for ponds, pits, impoundments, lagoons, landfill cells, caps, covers, and related containment structures. Liner systems may be designed for fresh water, produced water, brine, wastewater, leachate, process fluids, or other project-specific materials.

LINER MATERIALS INSTALLED
Material selection should be based on chemical compatibility, exposure conditions, puncture resistance, flexibility, expected service life, and project specifications. Common materials include: HDPE and LLDPE geomembrane, Conductive liner, Geocomposite, Geosynthetic clay liner (GCL), Geotextile, Geonet, PVC, Floating cover materials, ClosureTurf®, LiteEarth, and Wind Defender® ballast systems

Installation

Quality Control During Liner Installation

A liner system depends on more than the sheet material. Field seams, penetrations, tie-ins, anchor trenches, and transitions all need to be installed and checked correctly. Quality control typically includes reviewing the subgrade before liner placement, planning panel layout, preparing and welding field seams, testing and documenting seams, completing detail work at penetrations and pipe connections, and performing a final inspection before the system is placed into service.
